Message from our leadership
What an extraordinary year it has been for UHN Foundation.
Thanks to your generosity and unwavering commitment, we raised an incredible $259 million and granted $181 million to University Health Network during our fiscal year 2025/2026. Together, we are advancing UHN’s mission to be Canada’s solutions hub, pushing the boundaries of innovation and striving to be the best in the world, not just in Canada.
We were thrilled and immensely proud when UHN was recognized as the number one hospital in Canada and the number-two hospital in the world. This remarkable achievement belongs to all of us. Your support fuels groundbreaking research, transforms patient care, and strengthens world-class training and mentorship programs for the next generation of healthcare leaders and medical experts.
This year also marked a major milestone with the launch of Canada Leads, a bold $100-million fundraising initiative designed to attract leading early-career and senior scientists from around the world. By recruiting exceptional talent, Canada Leads is helping establish UHN as the destination of choice for global innovators and accelerating discoveries that will shape the future of medicine.
Another highlight of the year was the launch of We Walk UHNITED, UHN Foundation’s first-ever peer-to-peer fundraising event. More than 4,000 participants, volunteers, and sponsors came together to raise over $1.3 million in support of UHN. The energy, enthusiasm, and community spirit on display were truly inspiring, and we look forward to growing this event for years to come.
Our signature fundraising events continued to make a tremendous impact, while community fundraisers across the region played a vital role in advancing healthcare and helping bring innovative treatments and compassionate care to patients and families.
These achievements represent just a few of the many inspiring stories featured throughout this Annual Report.
This Annual Report also marks an important leadership transition for the UHN Foundation Board. As we welcome incoming Board Chair Joanne Kearney and the new Board leadership team, we look forward to their guidance and leadership in the coming year.
On behalf of everyone at UHN Foundation, thank you to every donor, volunteer, sponsor, and community partner who contributed this year. Whether you gave one dollar or one million dollars, your generosity is helping UHN maintain its position as Canada’s leading hospital and deliver world-class care, research, and innovation to those who need it most.
